Walking the dog : the most crucial activity to move my goals forward
We all have our own versions of repetitive tasks we must handle but are seemingly a pure waste of brain time. It can be driving in traffic every day, walking the dog, doing the laundry, etc.
The amount of time we spend on these tasks can add up to quite a significant part of our waking hours, so the proposition here is to enjoy that time and make it productive if we want to.
Personal insight
I’m thinking maybe a little too much in terms of productivity, goals, and accomplishments, which leads me to have a very low tolerance for time-consuming tasks that do not fulfill one of the following :
- Family
- Learn
- Nature
- Socialize
- Art
- Exercise
- Solve a significant problem for myself or others
- Getting closer to the goals I have set for myself, or helping somebody out with their goals
Walking the dog is one of the tasks that do not seem to fulfill any of these goals… until it does, but let’s generalize a little.
